Use mass points and weight all the vertices equally. Then each centroid has mass $3$, each midpoint mass $2$. All of the segments must go through the centroid. Done! Also, the intersection point divides each segment in the ratio $2:3$, the shorter segment the one containing the centroid. In fact, this generalizes to not just edges but also any diagonals, and also any five points (convex or otherwise).
