Just bumping this up, but we have infinitely many isosceles triangles passing through the two roots? What do they mean? Generally speaking, the third point of the isosceles triangle would occur at $(\frac{a}{2},k)$ for some positive real $k$ (negative case also works but omit it.) Using $Area = \frac{abc}{4R}$ where $R$ is cicrumradius, we can obtain that $R = \frac{4k^2+a-4b}{16k}$ Is this what they meant?

The equation has only two roots, but a triangle has three sides.
